Wilson Kipsang runs 2nd fastest marathon

FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) — Wilson Kipsang of Kenya ran the second fastest marathon in winning the Frankfurt race on Sunday only three seconds outside the world record.
Kipsang won the Frankfurt Marathon for the second straight year in two hours, three minutes and 41 seconds, barely missing the world mark.
Patrick Makau of Kenya won the Berlin Marathon one month ago in 2:03.38.
Kipsang pulled away shortly after the 35 kilometer mark to leave behind a group of Kenyans that had been on world-record pace from early on in the race.
